St Kellams Cottage

Cottage in England, Chipping Norton

Description

St Kellams Cottage is Grade II listed and enjoys a picture-perfect riverside setting, in the captivating Cotswolds village of Lower Slaughter.

This welcoming property is finished to an exceptionally high standard, successfully marrying traditional features with contemporary styling. A spacious lounge with log burner features stone detailing, whilst sumptuous furnishings and drapes add to the luxurious feel. The property’s kitchen features granite worktops and high grade appliances throughout, and has been equipped with many thoughtful extras. The cottage’s three beautiful bedrooms both overlook the River Eye which flows alongside the property.

The double-bedded room features a stunning, standalone bath tub with separate toilet. The second, a roomy twin-bedded room, is served by a lovely family shower room. The third bedroom is a stunning loft conversion with an en-suite bathroom. Both bedrooms have plentiful hanging and storage space and are equipped with luxury mattresses with duck down duvets. St Kellams has a paved front patio with seating, the ideal place to while away the hours with a good book, glass of wine or simply watch the river flow by. Lower Slaughter Manor with its esteemed restaurant is a two minute walk from the property, as is The Slaughters Country Inn, a 15th Century character pub with open fires. The stunning location of this Cotswold gem makes it the perfect retreat in which to unwind, and an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding areas of Warwickshire and the Cotswolds. There are many lovely country walks right on the doorstep of this idyllic property.

Neighborhood

St Kellams is positioned along side the River Eye, just two minutes walk over the river from The Lower Slaughter Inn and 5 minutes from Lower Slaughter Manor. Hiking, walking, fishing and horse riding within easy reach.

Lower Slaughter is a village located within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 4 miles from Stow-on-the-Wold and 2 miles from Bourton-on-the-Water. The village is built on both banks of the River Eye, which also flows through Upper Slaughter. At the west end of the village there is a 19th-century water mill with an undershot waterwheel and a chimney for additional steam power. There is a ford where the river widens in the village and several small stone footbridges join the two sides of the community. While the mill is built of red brick most of the 16th and 17th century homes in the village use Cotswold sandstone and are adorned with mullioned windows and often with other embellishments such as projecting gables.
